Alrighty, on to the next Psalm! This Psalm is really cool, in my opinion. But that’s just me.
Psalm 31
In you, O LORD, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame; deliver me in your righteousness. Turn your ear to me, come quickly to my rescue; be my rock of refuge, a strong fortress to save me.
He was my refuge. I hid no where else. He took me in, covered me, and let me hide in His peace and comfort. It sounds strange, and maybe even a little bit silly, but it’s true. He was my rock, the One I could run to at any time. My aunt said to me a few times, “Only you know what it’s like. Only you know how bad the pain is or where it hurts. You’re the one that has to lie awake, not able to sleep. Though we can listen and try to understand, we don’t know. Only you do. And God, because He’s there with you through all of it.”
So true. Words of wisdom right there.
Since you are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of your name lead and guide me. Free me from the trap that is set for me, for you are my refuge.
I prayed this. I prayed that He would heal me for the sake of His name. For His glory. And He healed me. It was all Him. I hope you know that. It wasn’t medicine or pain killers that have worked to make me better. The fact that the tumor wasn’t cancer is ALL God. His glory, not mine.
And I won’t lie, I felt like I was facing a trap. But He delivered me from it.
I will be glad and rejoice in your love, for you saw my affliction and knew the anguish of my soul. You have not handed me over to the enemy but have set my feet in a spacious place.
Yes. I will rejoice in His love that never fails. He knew me and saw me, and rescued me.
My times are in your hands…Let me not be put to shame, O LORD, for I have cried out to you.
How beautiful is that? My times are in His hands. The same is true for you. He knows how many more days you’ll be alive. He knows what will happen to you tomorrow. I think that’s cool. It helped me to know that my times were already taken care of. The day I die is already set. Whether it was cancer or not could play into it, but either way the Plan was set and I just had to rely on Him. I had to leave the Plan with Him instead of taking it into my own hands.
Praise be to the LORD, for he showed his wonderful love to me.
:)
Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD.
I really like this verse. Like, a lot. I don’t know how to explain why, but I just really like it.
