Well, the wifi died at 12:03 Friday morning and just came back up, so the usual #4 spot is long gone – hi to #192! :) Tomorrow will be three years since brain surgery, so I’m hitting post and then trying to put words to many years of emotions. Prayers appreciated. You people are wonderful!

BEAUTIFUL…

There are so many names that come to mind, so many faces wrinkled with joy, and eyes brimming with love.

Friends that hold my hand, sisters that come around and walk through life together, and an (in)family that is all online and all in my heart – all at the same time.

We associate beauty with long, straight hair or short, perfect curls. White teeth, clear skin, and a lean frame are, to this world, beautiful.

But when I think of those names – when I see those faces like a slideshow in my mind – there isn’t a common ‘look’ between them all.

Brown, wavy hair.
Short, pixie cut.

Blue eyes and blonde hair.
A messy bun, sweatshirt, and glasses.

It’s all different, and it’s all good.

It’s a mess of beautiful.

The only common thread among each of us in this gloriously messy life we live together is Jesus.

Servant-minded and compassionate, these are the girls that spend their summers reaching out to others, purposefully living to encourage. These are the ones I call when something goes wrong, and they respond immediately. When I’m at church and see hands raised high – often, those hands are attached to the arms of these girls. There’s no shame amongst us when we speak His Name, because no name is higher and how dare we remain silent?

He is glorious, beautiful, radiant in glory and splendor. How easy to type those words, and how hard to even begin to comprehend what they truly mean.

Oh, how we think we know beauty.

We know nothing of it, but of Him. Can anything be beautiful apart from Him?

No words can sum up, let alone begin to describe who He is, but as we gaze at Him and serve each other, I say of these friends of mine…

Beautiful are the feet…
