Whew.

It’s over!

Two months ago it took me 25:03 to run 1.266 miles (with a 5 minute walking warm-up and 5 minute walking cool-down). That was my first day of training. My furthest day of training (minus the two days I ran 3 miles – which took me 45 and 37:30 minutes) was 1.975 miles and it took me 34:00 minutes.

Today?

Well today I jogged a 5k in, oh, 34 MINUTES AND 6 SECONDS.

My very best time EVER was 37 minutes and 30 seconds. That was this past Thursday (two days ago) and I went 3 miles instead of 3.1

So basically I beat my best time by 3:24 AND went further.

WHAT. THE. HECK.

I’m not even a runner! But apparently when I get out there and am running with people around me, it helps me keep a faster pace. When I’m by myself I set the pace. And, truth be told, I walk quite a bit. Probably about half of it.

Today? I probably walked half a mile…much different from the usual mile and a half.

And to top that off, I’ve been sore since Thursday and only got a little over 3 hours of sleep last night.

Yup. I just ran *jogged* a 5k on 3 hours of sleep and still sore from two days prior.

There is a jock inside of me.

Bahahaha. What a joke. But no seriously though, I am really proud.

I did it.

I ran a 5k.

Okay, jogged with a little walking and, yes, a little running.

But I did it.

I finished and beat my best time by over 3 minutes, which is insane to me.

I got a pretty little number badge thing and you know what? I came in 6th in my division.

Guess what that means?!?!

I wasn’t last!!!

Fantastic, right? :) And the best part?

May 7th.
