I just got back from Spring Break an hour ago, but I’ve got to tell you about a book I’ve been reading. It’s called You’re Already Amazing by Holley Gerth. A couple months ago I volunteered to do a book review on my blog in exchange for receiving the book for free. Since I had already been planning to get the book when it came out, volunteering was a no brainer. Get a great book for free and then write about it? Yes please, sign me up any time (hint – someone send me another :])!

While reading through the book I decided the best way to share it with you would be to share some quotes. The book is great and yes, you should buy it. No, I’m not just saying that because I got it for free. It really is some good stuff, and there’s one page that made the tears roll down my cheeks because the truth? Oh it was evident and powerful and a punch-in-the-gut while being a deep sigh of relief all at the same time.

Basically, Holley shares from her heart to bless other women’s hearts by telling them this one important truth: they’re already amazing.

You’re already amazing.

If you’re anything like me, it’s easy to read that (or imagine being told that) and half-smile, maybe nod in appreciation, mumble a thanks, and move on shaking your head on the inside. I mean what would they say if they really knew me, right?

But see that’s the thing…it doesn’t really matter what they might see because my amazing-ness, your amazing-ness, has nothing to do with anyone else…you’re already amazing because He declares it so.

So. As you chew on that and let it sink in just a bit, let me throw a little bit more at you. Onto the quotes!

“When you attack yourself, you side with the enemy. God is always for you – that means you can be too.”

“Jesus is the source of our strengths, and he’s also the One who enables us to live in them each day. We don’t have to force ourselves to be “on” all the time. Instead our focus can be on remaining “in” Christ.”

{Be “in,” not “on” …crazy good, right?}

“We all have lies we carry around inside us…Others may speak into our lives, but Jesus has the final say. He covers the lies with love. May he heal us and help us to believe.”

“When parts of my heart or life don’t measure up to my expectations, I tend to hide them. But what if someone would be blessed by what I have to share and they miss out because I hide it?”

“If I will wash your feet, will I not wash your wounds?”

{Tears. Jesus, how you love me catches me off guard oh too often.}

“Daughter, I did not come to give you a full life. I came to give you life to the full.”

To sum the book up, here’s all you need to know (well, this quote, and that you should go buy it and should begin to believe you’re already amazing):

Love all. Please One.
Be who I’ve created you to be.
You are enough because I am enough in you.
