Sunday Song began when I decided I wanted to write a post every week (on the same day) (except that doesn’t happen half of the time. Ha!) on a song that I love. After putting up the song lyrics, I go through and give my thoughts/feelings line by line, or sometimes just in chunks. If you want to write a Sunday Song, or have any comments about mine, just let me know! Leave me a fun little comment, and I’ll come visit your blog. :)

I’ll Stand by Hillsong
You stood before creation
Eternity in Your hand
You spoke the earth into motion
My soul now to stand
You stood before my failure
And carried the cross for my shame
My sin weighed upon your shoulders
My soul now to stand
So what could I say?
And what could I do?
But offer this heart, Oh God
Completely to you
So I’ll walk upon salvation
Your spirit alive in me
This life to declare your promise
My soul now to stand
So what could I say?
And what could I do?
But offer this heart, Oh God
Completely to you
I’ll stand
With arms high and heart abandoned
In awe of the one who gave it all
I’ll stand
My soul Lord to you surrendered
All I am is yours

I’ll start off by saying my church just started singing this song in worship a few weeks ago…and I’M IN LOVE. I can’t get the song out of my head!!! I LOVEEEE IT!
You stood before creation
Eternity in your hand
You spoke the earth into motion
My soul now to stand
You stood before my failure
And carried the cross for my shame
My sin weighed upon your shoulders
My soul now to stand
How amazing is He? He SPOKE the earth into motion. Sorry, but I don’t know anyone else who can do that.
Let’s take that one step further…He carried the cross for MY shame.
Okay. It’s one thing to make the earth because You’re amazing and wonderful and can do cool things like that.
Just because You wanted to.
But You carried the cross for me. For ME. I’m unworthy. Why me?
Just because You wanted to.
That’s pretty much what goes through my head.
So what could I say?
And what could I do?
But offer this heart, Oh God
Completely to you
There’s really not much we can say or do, besides live completely for Him. Which is everything, yet nothing compared to what He did.
So I’ll walk upon salvation
Your spirit alive in me
This life to declare your promise
My soul now to stand
I want my life to declare His promise. I want my words and my actions to declare it. I want my blog to declare it. I want to point people to Him.
I’m sad to say that I usually am not the best example, though.
I’ll stand
With arms high and heart abandoned
In awe of the one who gave it all
I’ll stand
My soul Lord to you surrendered
All I am is yours
Ah…I love it!!! Every time we sing it I just HAVE to raise my hands and worship. I love that the arms show it on the outside, and the heart shows worship on the inside.
I am in awe. Why anyone would give it all up for me doesn’t make sense…
Over time, I’ve surrendered myself to Him. There are days where I fail in this, but I do try to be surrendered. It’s not always easy because I like to be the one in control. But I know that He is ultimately in control of everything, so surrendering is becoming easier. Like the song says, all I am is His anyways.

Please visit this link to hear the song. I hope you’ll raise your arms and worship Him. I hope you’ll be willing to stand up for Him, after all He has done for you. Living with your heart abandoned to Him isn’t easy. But it’s worth it.
As my blog title says, I’m going to stand. Will you?
it is such a wonderful song! Thanks so much for a wonderful post!
Laura
What a great song!!!!
And I totally agree with you about this: I want my life to declare His promise. I want my words and my actions to declare it. I want my blog to declare it. I want to point people to Him.
ME TOO!!!
P.S. Thanks for stopping by!!!
