If we believe that God could come through, and He can, and if we believe that He hears are prayers and knows our hearts, and He does, will we trust Him if His answer doesn't look like ours and instead of saving the day, His plan is to draw us closer to Him in the midst of it all? If we trust that God can save us, will we say He is still God and still good even if He does not?

P.S. Don’t miss the giveaway at the end of the post!

Wouldn’t it be great to preview my new book before purchasing it?

I think so.

For the next several weeks, I’m going to post about a different chapter every Tuesday. If you’re reading through the book, these posts will be the perfect compliment and a little something extra.

If you’re on the fence about purchasing the book or have no plans to own Even If Not, these posts will hopefully still be an encouragement for whatever road you’re walking.

Every Tuesday there will be a short video, a free printable with a quote from that chapter, and either an excerpt or a summary of sorts from the chapter we’re focusing on.

To give you time to order the book and read along, today I’ll share a little bit about the introduction and we’ll start everything up next Tuesday!

P.S. If you order the book before March 23, make sure to forward your email receipt to evenifnotbook@gmail.com to receive two exclusive free prints!

Even If Not is available now!

Even If Not: Introduction

If we believe that God could come through, and He can, and if we believe that He hears our prayers and knows our hearts, and He does, will we trust Him if His answer doesn’t look like ours and instead of saving the day, His plan is to draw us closer to Him in the midst of it all?

If we trust that God can save us, will we say He is still God and still good even if He does not?

Even if we pray the same prayer for years and nothing seems to be happening…

Even if relationships fall apart…

Even if our health fails us…

Even if depression and darkness are part of our story…

Even if we have way more questions than answers…

I’ve had my  but that doesn’t mean there won’t be other opportunities for me to declare it again. We never know just what hangs in the balance of our “even if not” and so today, let’s not fall for the idols. Let’s choose not to bow down in worship to social media or stats or anything else that too often takes His place. Every day this world asks you to bow down and bend your knees to the glitz, the glam, the stats and the lies.

Don’t fall for it.

Literally, please do not fall.

Every single day you’re handed one million little opportunities to worship, but it’s your choice which god you’ll fall for — the world or the One who made the world.

I’m convinced many of us are living in the ampersand, in an in between place that is crying out in both pain and belief that God will use the hurt. We’re desperate for Him to come through, desperate for this to not be the end. Surely the story can’t end this way, right? God will come through, I promise you that. But you and I both know it deep down in our souls, whether we’re ready to admit it or not: God is going to come through but it might not look like what we’re hoping for.

It is in that place that we whisper the words again and again and again, even when they are more a prayer of “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief.”

Even if not, Lord, even if not.
